slow down the website of 1 sec

Hi I really love this plugin and I don’t want to remove it from my site, I use it for years, but I noticed it slows down my site by 1 sec (test done on pingdom). I made several test when enabled and disabled. Would there be a way to speed it up a bit ? thank you!
