Right, I have downloaded that Solvent plugin back then which allows me to do the opposite of 'sticky' posts. But obviously, that feature doesn't work with 2.0 anymore. Know any new plugins that does? Help!

Actually, solvent does work with WP 2.0. I just tried it and it does work. Add a custom field called slippery with a value of 1 and the post will slip from the first page as intended.
I agree it needs an update to have a better user interface, but if you need the feature, the plugin appears to work with WP 2.0.

I noticed the plugin did not work in one theme but works in the default theme.

I just installed Solvent on WP 2.0. It works like a charm. Puts an extra check box under the status box automatically. Check it while editing and the posts never appear on the front page
