sliding in time and sliding speed

I’m using slideshow 2.2.19 in the lower half of my header (http://geoadvanced.com/). It works fine. Here are my settings:

Number of seconds the slide takes to slide in: 8
Number of seconds the description takes to slide in: 0
Seconds between changing slides: 0.1
Number of slides to fit into one slide: 4

What I expected are 1) the sliding in time is short when the site is loaded and 2) the sliding speed is not too fast. With above setting, the sliding speed is OK but the sliding time is too long. Is it possible to separate the sliding in time and sliding speed?

Also, I set 4 slides to fit in one slide. There is white spaces between the 4 slide. Can it be removed?
