Slideshow widget captions

Hello,

This question has been posted time and time again but there has been no reply from the developers and no solution from anyone… So, since all the previous topics about this have been closed (why?), I am bumping it up again:

Can we please, please add support for displaying captions with the slideshow widget? Either taken from the description or the Alt & title field, I don’t mind which one.

I use the slideshow widget a lot but for some reason it doesn’t display captions. I am always having to install third party jQuery Nivo slider plugins to do the job, but unfortunately they are not being updated as frequently so they keep breaking every time I update NextGen. At the moment none of them work.

It would be great to have this feature added, unfortunately I am not a php developer but surely it’s a matter of a couple of lines of code?

I don’t want to enable Flash as some people have suggested (Flash is SEO unfriendly and most phone browsers can’t view it) and I don’t like the image browser, which doesn’t auto rotate. The slideshow widget is clean and simple, but lacks the captions which are often needed for my projects.
