Order by ID is in ascending/descending numerically vs the order you have them in the comma separated list.
If you do not have caching enabled then date is sorted ascending/descending by the calendar based on the post/page publish date & title is sorted alphabetically.
Ron, I’ve tried it up, down and sideways. I have tried deleting all the ID’s and saving, then putting them back in. It doesn’t matter what I do, what order I put them in, it orders them the way IT wants.
I have tried republishing in ascending and descending date order. No difference.
Not a thing I do makes any difference.
Are you absolutely certain you are not running a caching plugin? The slider uses WP_Query to retrieve the posts in the order you have in your settings. WP_Query is what retrieves the posts (in order by date) for your blog page/listing.
Nope, no caching. I was able finally to set up the slides in the right order using the date.
I agree, very frustrating.
HERE’S THE FIX IN PLAIN ENGLISH
1. Put the Page IDs you want into the Include box on the Genesis Slider Settings
2. Select Order by Date from the dropdown below
3. Go into each page and change the dates to make it sort like you want (most recent date appears first in the slider).
