Slider loading slower than other elements

So the load speed for the slider at the top of the page is slower than the rest of the elements. I’ve been asked to have the slider load first or at least have the space for it as the page loads so things aren’t moving around. I realize this may be a difficult task to achieve as the slider is a dynamic size so defining the space as the pixel height of the slider doesn’t work. Does anyone have any suggestions how to achieve what I’m wanting to do? I need some help.
