• Hi thanks for a niceplugin!

I am having a problem to get the widget working in the widget area.

I have 2 slide shows set up for a site (WordPress 3.2.1-sv_SE and Theme: Weaver 2.2) as following:

The first slideshow is for the header and is 855×265 with 3 slides and set up in weaver admin- advanced options – Site Header Insert Code:

    <div class=”ttw-center”>[meteor_slideshow slideshow=”Main”]</div>

    The above slideshow works fine

The second slideshow is for the widget area and is 212×165 with 4 slides. I am experiencing the following problem:

1.) If I paste: [meteor_slideshow] in the Metadata space in the widget the result is: Only the first image of the slide shows. If I paste the exact same code [meteor_slideshow] inside a page the slideshow works fine.

2.) If I paste [meteor_slideshow slideshow=”industri”] in the Metadata space in the widget the result is: The area for the widget becomes blank (no slide show) and other widget (text) is pushed down.

So basically the slide show works in the page but with the same code it dosen’t work in the widget area.

What can be wrong? Thankful for your assistance.

I changed the code to only: industri in the widget meta box but the same problem. The size and placement of the slide is correct but it doesn’t change slides. Works fine on the page.

Hi Axel, thanks for trying Meteor Slides! You don’t need to use the shortcode or the template tag within the widget, you just use the code that you would add to the shortcode or tag.

Like in this screenshot, you would add just the slideshow’s slug to the slideshow field to specify a slideshow, like this:

    industri

And in the metadata field you would add just what is in double quotes in these examples, like this:

    fx: 'zoom', random: 1

Hi Josh thanks for your prompt reply. I tried to put the code as you have suggested but still it is not working however I have discovered that the First slideshow created works in the widget area but not the others. I created a third slideshow just for testing purpose. Now I have 3 slide shows as following:

Slide show “Main” (855×265 with 3 slides) this slideshow works on the page and the widget area. This was the one created first.

Slide show “Minislide” 212×165 with 4 slides (changed name from previous Industri just to test). This slideshow works on page but not on the widget area. The area is blank and no slideshow. This was the second slideshow I created.

Slide show “Color” 212×165 with 2 slides (created for testing purpose). This slideshow works on page but not on the widget area. The area is blank and no slideshow.

    What can be the problem?

Make sure you are using the slug for the slideshow and not the title.

Hello Axel/Josh It will be great if you find out what’s wrong, as I am having exactly the same problem at a site I run. The Weaver header slideshow runs fine, but the sidebar widget slideshow only displays if it has 1 slide. If I add a second. or a third slide to it, etc… its sidebar area goes blank… I am pretty sure I am using the slug correctly by the way

@yingzhuo I tested the widget using Weaver 2.2.2 and I can’t replicate this problem, it is working fine for me. Can you post a link to the page you are having this problem on?

OK thanks, then it must be a plugin conflict perhaps…?

    url: http://www.fengshui.cl/

(at the moment the side widget has only one slide, so it displays…)

Also, I’ve just noticed that the header slideshow freezes if I go to a different tab in firefox in order to do something else on another page – like typing in this form – maybe the 2 problems are related…?

I think you are having a plugin conflict. Something is taking the JavaScript for the slideshow and changing it, do you have a caching plugin installed?

Yes, Quick cache. But I just disabled it to test and the problem persists. So… I will keep disabling plugins one at a time until I find the culprit… I will let you know if I do… thanks for your fast responses

No problem, there is a lot of JavaScript, so it is possible some other plugin is conflicting.
