   I really loved this app, but now I am pulling my hair out with a problem and hope you can help.

   First, their was short code in the excerpt of text that was used when a page was shared (if there was any in the 1st couple lines of the page) so it looked really messy. Example from share to Facebook: "caption id=attachment_2441 align=alignright width=175 caption=Author Doug Bernier at bat for the NY Yankees. Image by Ed Wolfstein./caption Pro Tips and Instruction for How to Hit a Baseball. Whet"

   To fix that problem, I went back into the pages and defined an excerpt.

   It seems to work in some cases, but there are still pages that show up with the same excerpt as before, even if I completely change the page. This is mostly a problem with the Linkedin and Facebook share buttons. It seems like the old excerpt is cached somewhere.

   Is there a way to “reset” the info to get it to use the current version of the page?

   I am not getting any responses from the plugins home website. I am pretty sure they just took my question and trashed it. Since I can't get any help with the problem, I have deactivated the plugin.

   Hello,

   I also had this problem. After doing some research I found that Slick Social Share buttons was incorrectly generating the description for sharing to social media. The description was including shortcodes without actually parsing them. As you describe.

   I Disabled Opengraph in the Slick Social Share settings and this fixed the problem.

   I use Yoast SEO Plugin and that generates a nice description.

   You can still use slick social buttons, just disable Opengraph and see how that goes.

   Hi
   Now you can solve this problem in very easy step
   Open your plugin file dcwp_social.php
   path :wp-content/plugins/slick-social-share-buttons/inc/dcwp_social.php
   and go to line number 629
   and comment the line
   like this
   /*$title .= '
   <meta property="og:description" content="'.substr(@strip_tags(str_replace(array("[","]",'"'),"",$post_by_id['post_content'])), 0, 200).'"/>
   ';*/
