• Hello Everyone…

I’ve had a problem with sleeping MySQL connections since pretty much day one. It’s not completely debilitating, but a nuisance nonetheless.

It seems as if everything in the my.cnf file is in order, no persistent connections, etc. However, I often find that many processes are “hung” and I presume take up resources, and can often cause WordPress database errors.

The solution at that time is to restart MySQL and everything goes back to normal.

In reading many support boards, it seems it’s possible to cause these sleeping connections if you interrupt the loading of the website (i.e., hitting “stop”, etc.)

    My Question:

Is there a setting in my.cnf that can KILL these sleeping processes after a set time, say 45-60 seconds? I can often get over 100 sleeping connections, and that has been a thorn in my side for over two years.

    Your assistance is greatly appreciated!
