Sites with lots of different content in the sidebars

How do they manage that??
All I know is the text widgets. And they are hard to play with because I can?t mark the text in one and copy to another. And if I name them, the name shows up in the sidebar. I write which page their going to show up on with id numbers.

Is there any other way to do this?
