I have had the Sitemap plugin for quite some time and only recently Google gave me a warning for this on my sitemap concerning date format:
- <url>
<loc>http://www.liberallyconservative.com/?cat=</loc>
<lastmod>1969-12-31T19:00:00+00:00</lastmod>
<changefreq>weekly</changefreq>
<priority>0.5</priority>
</url>
I obviously found this on the sitemap but can't seem to locate exactly where this is coming from. I checked posts and categories (over 2200) to see if I could make a manual correction.
Does anyone know how I may correct this to cleanup the warning and move on?
Thanks,
Don
depending on which sitemap generator you are using, what keeps you from deleting the generated files, and/or remaking them?
thats where I would start.
Have you done that?
I have the plugin for Sitemap, compatible to Google from:
http://www.arnebrachhold.de/projects/wordpress-plugins/google-xml-sitemaps-generator/
It has always done well for me but I see no way of editing it. I clicked the link to my sitemap.xml but there is no edit feature or save feature.
I use Dreamweaver on my commercial web site and you can edit anything including your sitemap.
Under WP I don't see a capability of editing.
What I was trying to do is locate and delete the category that has the incorrect date format but that category is not numbered and seems like a "false" URL.
I went line for line in my category sections but don't see it.
Thanks,
Don
