Hi I have a similar problem.
I installed the sitemap plugin for a client of mine.
I tried to run the plug in and I get this error.

    Internal Server Error
We're sorry for the inconvenience, but there has been an internal server error. Please click on the back button to return to the former page.

the clients site is located on a sub directory? does this have any bearing on the problem.

the sitemap should be located here.
    http://www.eugroup.net/brightskies/sitemap.xml
    but its not created

the robots were created successfully but the sitemap gets error.

here some info on the their site:
    its running wordpress Version 2.3.2
i used the sitemap generator Version 3.0.3
the site is hosted by network solutions.

    any ideas about this

I have the same problem with only the homepage being indexed, where all my pages where getting indexed before using a sitemap.

Also, as mentioned in an earlier post, there's no way to make changes to individual pages and if I change any of the customization options and rebuild (including manually adding pages), nothing has changed in the new sitemap. This is version 3.0.3

As is, I can only find this useful for building an initial template to manually modify after making sure the generator is disabled (so the modified XML doesn't get overwritten). This is assuming that using a sitemap isn't more detrimental than beneficial for getting your pages indexed properly, which doesn't seem to be the case. This appears to be a Google issue. No sitemap errors are reported, but only one url is accepted for indexing, the homepage. Not very useful unless you plan to maintain an endlessly scrolling homepage.
