Sitemap compression

Hi ,
With thanks for a great plugin ,
I have been searching in plugin setting to find an option that disables the compression for sitemap !
Is there anyway to set the plugin to creates a normal sitemap without any compression , what i mean is , when i check the sitemap i can see a list of seperated sitemaps for categories, posts, etc. but the sitemaps are in .gz extension and i want them in xml format … is there anyway to do so ?!
