• I’ve just finished redesigning a site for someone, but the site URL on the homepage of Firefox is not changing; “/wordpress” is still showing up only on the homepage. I’ve reviewed the Codex to redirect the domain name to the subdirectory with the wordpress files and it works perfectly in Google Chrome and IE, but changing the .htaccess file doesn’t seem to work as it only redirects rather than change the url.

What’s worse is that when I change the permalinks to use the postname for the site URLs, all the homepage links in Firefox bring up a 404 error. I assume this is related to the “/wordpress” still showing up in the homepage URL in Firefox.

In short, I simply what the site url to display the WordPress pages without displaying the subdirectory folder and change the permalinks to display the postname, but problems show up only on the homepage when viewed in Firefox.
