Everytime I change my site title, it will work for about 10 minutes and then it keep reverting to this title, and displaying this rather than what I've typed in and saved.

A screenshot is of no use. What might help is a link to a page demonstrating the problem and a reasonably detailed description of the issue.

ok here is a link to the site

    joshuamccabe.com

as of right now the site title is displaying properly, but if you check again in about 30 minutes to an hour the site title will be changed to a long string of letters and numbers... the same as you saw in the screen grab.

I go into my wordpress settings, change the site title to what I would like. Then in about 15 minutes sometimes more or sometimes less, but always everyday... the site title will be changed, I log back into my wordpress account. Click on settings, and in the site title box there is the same string of long numbers letters and symbols that I did not type into the box.

    does that help?

OK the title of my site has disappeared again and has been changed to the following... some type of error is happening, here's the link:

    joshuamccabe.com

  5. Have you tried:
    - deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    - switching to the 2010 theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?

    - resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin? Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

Looks like a character set issue. (You have utf-7 which does make weirdness happen.)

THanks everyone! I've switched it to utf-8 and I'll let you know if it happens again under that setting. Right now it's back to normal... keeping fingers crossed

Ok so changing the character set to UTF-8 didn't work, the title of the site is that weird jargon again.

ok so after logging in to my wordpress, looks as if the character set was changed back to UTF-7. So for some reason wordpress is not remembering my settings and reverting back to UTF-7 at some random point

Have you tried Christine's suggests above about disabling plugins, etc.?

That did the trick... deleted all the plugins and it seems to be working fine now. Thanks everyone!
