   Today I was configuring WP Total Cache plugin to work with WP Touch theme. I was using the tutorial which WP Touch settings page directs us to. After I carried out step 2 of the tutorial, my site stopped working. I am even unable to open the admin login page.

   Can anyone tell me what the problem could be? since I can't even open the admin page, I'm unable to give any other information. I am getting a 500 Internal server error. This is the text at the bottom of the error page:

   Apache/2.2.17 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.17 OpenSSL/0.9.8e-fips-rhel5 mod_auth_passthrough/2.1 mod_bwlimited/1.4 FrontPage/5.0.2.2635 Server at digisheets.in Port 80

   In case it is not possible to fix, please tell me if it would be possible to backup all my posts and media library from cpanel while the site is down so that I could reinstall wordpress.

   500 Internal server errors are .htaccess problems. Something went wrong with W3TC when it wrote to .htaccess. Delete the root .htaccess file and then reset permalinks from WordPress. No need to reinstall WordPress.

   That didn't work. I deleted the .htaccess file, but I'm still getting the same error. I can't login

   Talk to your host, see what they say.
