Site Speed

My work website is painfully slow. ICDTranslation.com

I’m beginning to learn that such a slow site has an impact on business and I’m trying to figure out where to go next with keeping this in the best possible health to keep the business coming in through the website.

I’ve ran speed tests on tools.pingdom.com, which is great for breaking down what takes time. I’ve noticed that information for all of my plugins loads on the home page, whether they’re being called there or not, but that’s a different topic I’ll start.

What I want to ask about is the long “Wait” times I’m getting for files hosted on my server. I suspect that this is an indicator of a slow host (perhaps the database?), but I’m also wondering if this might be something related to the WordPress install.

Any thoughts on what to test would be appreciated.
