Strangest thing (and I've tried all kinds of ideas for the last 3 hours). It looks exactly how I want it to look in the editor but when going to the live site it's all jacked up. Any ideas?

wordpress post/page editor is not 100% WYSIWYG (What-You-See-Is-What-You-Get).
You need to style your themes first.

Thanks - yeah that's what I don't get. All of the other photos on the site work fine with the same coding. This is what confuses me. I'll take another look at the coding and template - thank you for the advice.

If you post a link to your site, people may be able to help more. Check and see if the photo is coded to "float: left".
the caption shortcode seems broken - this happens ocasionally - particular after some editing of the post.
clearing the whole post (use the html setting to make sure everything is gone) and starting again might help.

Thanks - I will try that. Currently I just changed the layout and used some tables but once I get a chance I'm going to do your suggestion.
Thank you everyone for your help thus far. I will update and, hopefully, change to resolved once I try Alchymyth's idea.
