Site seems to be loading second copy of content under sidebar (12 posts)

I'm still having this problem where an entire second set of content (from the header to the footer) loads under the second sidebar, and the first sidebar never loads.

if you go around the pages a few times, you're bound to see it.

Any ideas? Would something in my sidebar code accidentally be calling up another copy of index.php or something?

    Have you tried:

    - deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    - switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?

    Thanks for the reply!

I'm not sure what will happen to all my custom taxonomy and field information if I switch themes - does it still stay with the posts?

the theme switch won't really help me. I KNOW it won't happen in any other theme, haha, I'm trying to fix this one. It's been built almost from the ground up for this purpose, but I've been learning as I go.

I guess I'll try some non-essential plug ins, though I can't figure out how any of them would be doing it.

Did you get the error to show up for you? Have you heard about anything like that happening before?

The custom taxonomy and field information will stay with the posts but obviously won't be displayed or used in the default theme.

It sounds like you're replicating/repeating the Loop in one of your templates.

You know, I wonder if I left some stray code in my sidebars - I used to have a loop there to pull information from pages. I'll go check for that now.

hm couldn't find anything. I tried going through the plugins and as far as I can tell no changes.

This has got me totally stumped. :-/

I'm seriously going crazy on this one. I've checked all my code for some kinda extra loop, I tried the plugins.

It's calling the ENTIRE html document again. There's gotta be something I'm missing. Here's a screenshot with firebug open:

You can see where it just starts calling the document again right in the middle of the sidebar!

Still no luck on this. I tried moving the sidebars to the header, it just happens partially down the page instead of in the sidebar.

    no ideas?

Do you have duplicate <?php get_sidebar(); ?> entries in index.php, single.php, or could you have called the second sidebar from within the first? That could mean it's called via index.php, and again in sidebar 1.

You could try editing each file, and adding some arbitrary text next to each <?php get_sidebar(); ?>, like "Called from index", and seeing if you can trace it that way.

hmm, I don't see anything like that. It doesn't seem to be calling the sidebar, though, it seems to be calling the content. I noticed the weirdest iteration of it yet today, an image didn't load and the whole content loaded (complete with scroll bars so you could view it all) INSIDE the image, which was called with an object tag. Totally nuts!

I feel like it might be some kind of database error - resetting whenever it fails to load fully in some area?

holy balls, I think I may have finally figured it out:

It might have something to do with addthis opening an iframe that just does some random bull?

well, that particular error has been long solved, but it seems similar to what I'm experiencing.
