Site screwed up after pagelines template update (5 posts)

Hello. I'm basically a beginner, but read through as many posts as I could bear related to the topic of "sidebar appears at bottom of page" before turning here. I've also spent a great deal of time playing around with the dashboard settings.

Problem: I updated my pagelines theme and the result was a thicker text font, and sidebars to the bottom (resizing the widths makes no difference).

There have been no new posts on this blog in several weeks...this issue shouldn't relate to posts.

I really haven't any idea what to do. Would love some help.

    Thanks for listening.

eric (basically a beginner/but able to follow specific directives)

Unless you provide a link to a page demonstrating the problem, no one will be able to offer much in the way of assistance.

    Appreciate the reply Esmi:

    My site is: http://www.canadasync.com

Just to recap: I installed an update for the Pagelines theme after which three major problems occurred > 1) my sidebars will no longer fit no matter how much room I allot them 2) the text font has blown up a couple sizes 3) the footer has gone way off to the right.

Again, any guidance would be truly appreciated. I tried a couple different themes since last night, but really would prefer to stay with pagelines.

    thanks.

css styling seem to have changed

Install Firefox Firebug ; then when you hover over any html element; you will see the line number of all the css involved.

This way you can investigate and fix further css issues by yourself and quicker.

Maybe lucky: use the OLD themes css file

    Thank you for replying 123milliseconds:

I installed Firebug, but you know what the problem is: I don't know what to look for? That's why I came to the support forums.

In your post, did you mean to say that by hovering over the web pages' various elements, I will be able to find the errors? If so, what should I be looking for; will an alarm bell sound out, does the text start flashing, or am I just supposed to be able to spot the errors because they are obvious.

Is this the sort of problem that one would need to pay somebody to fix? If so, how often does this sort of thing happen with WordPress? I really just need something to run well, so that i can focus on other things. I don't mind updating the plugins from time to time, but I cannot continue to be as involved as I have been (setting it up) any longer. Essentially, I just need it to function.
