    Hi,

My goal was to display my site in German and English, either based on the user location or by letting the user click a “flag”. I have installed and activated the plugin (version 3.1.2 in theme YellowProject) but nothing changes. My site is still English only.

I have checked the plugin FAQ but it’s German only. How do I resolve this issue? Is it possible to use the plugin as desired anyway ( I don’t want an German only site).

    Thanks,
    Syl

    @syllogic:
    Hi there!
    Thanks for your feedback!

My plugin is not the right one for what you’re trying to do! As its name suggests, it’s only for loading proper German translations for WooCommerce base plugin, it’s NOT a multilingual plugin! My plugin also relies on the WPLANG constant set to de_DE.

For your goal better use other ways:

    1) Multisite install!
Every language is one sub site!
—> Helper plugins to make it more comfortable:
    http://wordpress.org/plugins/multisite-language-switcher/
    http://wordpress.org/plugins/multilingual-press/

    2) use proper multilingual plugins:
    recommended: Polylang http://wordpress.org/plugins/polylang/
    works, but confusing: WPML (premium)
    plus lots of others…

My recommended way for multilingual site is via Multisite install, that doesn’t lock you in and uses most WP default stuff and is most future proof.

Please note: the above things are only recommendations from me, I don’t give support or further info for that.

I give only support for my plugin and its packaged translations here.

Good luck with your goal 🙂
    Thanks, Dave 🙂
