Support » Localhost Installs » Site Navigates to Localhost Rather Than Site URL

  • On the web site albans-oil.net, I have a pull down menu that has three selections: Home, Order Alban’s Oil, and Navigation. When I select Order Alban’s Oil, the site navigates to http://albans-oil.net/order-albans-oil. However, when I am on the order page and select Home from the menu, rather than redirecting to http://albans-oil.net (or, possibly, albans-oil.net/home), the site tries to redirect to localhost and I get an error message saying my browser could not redirect to localhost. The redirection goes as it should when I select Navigation from the pull down menu. How do I fix the site so that, instead of redirecting to localhost when I select Home from pulldown on http://albans-oil.net/order-albans-oil, it redirects to albans-oil.net or albans-oil.net/home? Thanks for your help

was the site originally built on a local installation & then moved to the live hosting?

How is the navigation built on the order page? Are you using a custom menu? And if so, is the home menu item set up using a custom link? If this is the case you need to change the target URL of the link in the menu setup.

If the issue is theme-specfic, you may need to post your issue on the theme’s forum at http://wordpress.org/support/theme/attitude where it is more likely to be seen by the theme developers & people who use it on their sites.

Thanks for the response! I think I just found the problem. I just went into the administrative section of the web site and looked at Appearance->Menus, then looked at the Menu structure. When I click on the pull down next to the Home option in Menu structure, the URL is listed as http://localhost. I’m going to change that to http://albans-oil.net and have another go at it.
