    Hi

I tried to move my just build site to open in a different www address.

I had wordpress istalled in a http://www.example.fi/sub site and builded the site there. Now I tried to move the site to open in http://www.example.fi.

I went to general settings and changed the site to Site address url field and pressed save. I got an error message and after that nothing worked. I cannot log in to wordpress (www.example.fi/sub/admin) and nor my site is all messed up in http://www.example.fi/sub.

I checked with FileZilla FTP that all the index.php and other files are still in http://www.example.fi/sub.

What to do. We used a lot of time for building the site and now can't even log in to wordpress anymore?

    Thanks for the help

First, change the urls back. See Changing_The_Site_URL. Then, when the site is working at its old url again, see Giving_WordPress_Its_Own_Directory.

If you can't login then you probably best to go to your phpadmin and export the database files from there to your desktop. Open it in a text edit program and search for http://www.example.fi and replace with http://www.example.fi/sub. This will get your site back working again. Then read the Giving_WordPress_Its_Own_Directory info as above. If you get really stuck look me up and I'll help you..

    Hi

Thanks for the quick reply. I tried to export wp-config, index, admin and a punch of other files to my desktop but I didn't find anything related to my url:s in those files. What could be the file(s) I'm looking for where I could change the http://www.example.fi to http://www.example.fi/sub?

I've noticed something from a screenshot I toke from general sheet just before I pushed save. I left "/" at the end of the "Site address URL". This could cause the problem...
"The WordPress address URL" is still the same http://www.examble.fi/sub"
