Recently the homepage on my site started loading slowly. I am thinking it may be because of the slideshow on the home page.
Does anyone have any ideas.
I have tried wp-supercache but have had problems with it. Would caching help the situation, and if so can anyone recommend a better cache plugin?

Wow, you're pulling a very heavy load there. Your homepage is pulling in a Flash gallery, apparently from zenfolio? If that's the case, you're embedding another site's content in your page, so until that other site loads its stuff, you'll be hangin'.
So many people are loading feeds from other sites now, whether it be Twitter, Facebook, on and on, so they're all running into this problem - you're dependent on the other site, so there's little you can do, except for figuring out ways to load your page even when the other sites are dragging.
When I went to other pages, apparently more loading was going on, almost bringing down my browser, apparently more Flash galleries, and pics and vids possibly pre-loading before the page can display? If so, that's also a huge bottleneck.
I doubt a cache would help you much, because the cache can't deal with content from other sites at all, for instance.
If you have cheap hosting, that's probably not helping you much. Heavy multimedia sites require a lot of horsepower. The site looks very nice, at least! But I can barely load it, or even look at it.
