    Someone hit an update button in our web publishing tool and blew up our blog. The person who origianlly set up the blog no longer works here and no one has a clue how to fix it so they asked me. I have no idea. There appears to be several files and directories in place and when going to the webpage that previously held our blog we see:

    Warning: main(/nfs/c03/h04/mnt/48870/domains/steamworksonline.com/html/blog/wp-includes/pomo/mo.php) [function.main]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /nfs/c03/h04/mnt/48870/domains/steamworksonline.com/html/blog/wp-settings.php on line 342

    How do we resolve this? If we download and reinstall the blog, will it wipe out all our previous content?

    //steamworksonline.com/blog/wp-includes/pomo/

    That directory should contain 5 files, including mo.php, but it's empty.

    The errors take on a pattern - Search Using Keywords

    You can download a copy of 2.8.5 from here, and replace the /pomo directory.

    Then see what errors you have left, and you can continue patching accordingly. Perhaps you can piece it back together long enough to do an upgrade to a safe version. You may also be able to contact your host and see if they might have a backup copy you can use. It's a long shot, but it's happened before.

    It won't affect the database (actual content) but it will overwrite any default themes or other default file modifications you may have in place.

    Good luck to you!
