I'm not very sophisticated in my ability to mess with this site - and this morning discovered it had been 'hacked' When you go to my site (www.welleducator.org - using the wordpress.org program) all you get is the page telling you it's been defaced. My password had been changed. I finally got that part worked out.
How do I get this page off of my site and restore my website? How do we prevent this from happening again? A simple fix please - I'm not a computer person.
Thank you.

Same happened to me. You have to go to your MySQL database administration and change your password from there. Note that it is encrypted. I did it by copying the password string from another blog of mine. To restore the look of your site, just replace the original index.php file in your theme folder wp-content/themes/xxx/index.php (if you don't have the original files, download your theme again and pick out its index.php file).
Everything should be back to normal again, no content was removed by them.

Hi cyangarden,
Thanks a million. My site suffered as well and your tip helped me recover it quickly. Is anything else also needs to be done? I hope I am not bothering you.
Thanks again.
