    Hi!

I´m really in trouble! I guess it´s bigger problem and maybe I can´t get help from here, but I try.

Thing is, that I wanted to change post´s permalink, I went in post, what I wanted to change, then choosed “costume permalink” and added wished link name. So, it was something like this …./?p=18 andd I wanted to have it …./childrenswriter
After I saved it, was everything crashed, all page, even wp-login.
I was so in panic (client really needs this page) that I started to look how to redirect site to the older variation, so I didn´t concentrate to this error signs, what page gave me, so I can´t say, what exactly stayed there.

Please, can anyone help me about that? What I can do to bring this page back? I´m really sad and client is so angry.

    Best wishes,
    M.

  • Hi M,

This has happened to me before. I suggest you call your host and ask them to restore your website to the way it was when it last worked. They will either guide you or restore it for you at no charge (I did my site with GoDaddy and it was totally free 🙂 ).

    Hope this helps,

    Shar

I would connect to the server via FTP, or cPanel, and look for .htaccess at the root where wp-config.php is, and delete it ( delete the .htaccess file ).

    Hi again!

Sharongolod: I´m not so sure that my host has my page, they already know as well that my site is crashed. But I wrote them now again, to make it sure. 🙂

paulwpxp: I read about many cases where people deleted .htaccess file and it helped just for second. I can´t try it just now. I hope I find somebody who really had this experience and can tell more about that.
I wonder how it´s possible that WP has such a option there in page, what can crash everything… dont´t they want to add after this option: “warning! this option can destroy your site!”

Is it something from Spun theme, that costum permalink makes such a thing?

    Thank you both,

    M.
