[resolved] Site Compromised (7 posts)

My site is coming up in Google searches as possibly compromised. I've informed my host, Godaddy, but strangely, Google's own services via their Webmaster Tools don't show a problem.

While I'm waiting for my host to look into things properly and Google to reconsider the site, I'd better try and take a look manually. But I have no idea where to start! Might there be any plug-ins that can check for altered code, etc.?

Help much appreciated; I sell via my site and this is particularly bad timing.

    Okay, thanks.

Did a backup using BackWPUp and got this warning: [WARNING] File or folder "/home/content/67/7664267/html/stats/logs" is not readable!

Is that relevant? I'm really not a techie. What do I do with it? :/

Are you using a stats plugin?

    No, just Jetpack.

From what I can tell, your backup plugin is trying to also backup folders outside of WordPress. html/stats/logs is almost certainly part of your hosting account. It's definitely not WordPress.

Warning has disappeared now. Thanks for the help.
