• I have been quite religious about following instructions here to use a pre-existing subdirectory from which to host my site.

My site was pacificcoastpilot.com/wp which I wanted to run from the root pacificcoastpilot.com.

But the site has not moved. The only thing that has changed is when in the dashboad if I click on “visit site” it takes me to pacificcoastpilot.com, but there is nothing there.

The site is still at pacificcoastpilot.com/wp even though in settings general it still says that it is in the root. From the site have no problem clicking back to the dashboard.

    Open to any suggestions.

    Thanks

  • Do you have plugins, if so disable them. Have a look in cpanel to check folders.

Also check this link Move wp

Thanks. Hadn’t disabled the plugins, so did that. I had seen that page; from it I followed a link to the page I linked to above.

Probably a simple thing but I couldn’t find it. Eventually just moved the whole site to the root. It’s not what I wanted to do, but maybe when I learn more about wp I’ll try again 🙂

This has been liked going back to grade school.
