• When I add a singlepic and change the size manually, to say w=200 and H=200 the photos still render in different sizes depending on photo size. Besides I’m not sure what this numbers represent… AT least they do not show a photo resized to that numbers of pixels! [singlepic id=149 w=200 h=200 float=none]

It depends on what you are expecting. This code is meant to display a photo so it will fit in a box of 200×200 pixels. I will NOT crop your photo square when it is rectangular. A rectangular image will have 200px on the long side and something less than 200px on the short side.

If you see something else happening, please give more details about what you are expecting and what you are actually seeing.

Hope this helps,

Something else is happening or there is something I’m missing…

This two tags should give the same size pictures, considering they both show the same square photo of 230x230px

<img src=’http://www.telemuseum.no/ny/wp-content/gallery/ansatte/ansatte-dragana-stojiljkovic-230×230-2.jpg’ alt=’ansatte-dragana-stojiljkovic-230×230-2-jpg’ class=’ngg-singlepic alignleft’ height=’110′ width=’110’/>

[singlepic id=104 w=110 h=110 float=none]

You can see the effect on this page:

I see that there is a difference in size.
I see that the right photo has the correct dimension 110×110 and that you can click on it.
The left one is smaller and I cannot click on it.
When I click below the left one it also opens the photo, and it is also opened when I click to the right of the right photo. What is going on there?

Can you delete everything from the page and check that there isn’t anything left on the page that you can click on. Then add everything fresh and describe what shortcode you used for which photo.

And I would suggest using the new shortcode: http://www.nextgen-gallery.com/nextgen-gallery-shortcodes/

I used exactly the code on the page on each picture, the one on the right is the singlepic photo. It may be something strange going on in that Theeme, its pretty complex. I will check it out anyway with a simpler theme on another site. Now I’m going to take alook at your new shortcodes. 🙂

So the one on the right, is the one with the shortcode. So the shortcode works correctly!

So the question is only about the left photo. Did you add the left one by adding this code into the html editor? Or did you use the add media menu? You can choose Nextgen gallery photos from there also, in case you didn’t know.

Yes the shortcode worked correctly. The problem with the singlepic option in NGG is that there is no reasonable way to add a picture caption. When and if this feature is added I promise to buy the pro version and recommend it to all my custommers! (To be honest, not that many… 🙂 )

I used the Add media button, selected NGG/gallery/photo/full-size and manually adde the height and width parameters to the code.

I don’t understand what is happening with the other image then.

But you can add a picture caption to a singlepic. I cannot judge if this solution is reasonable for you, but it works for me.
Look into the nextgen-gallery folder, under modules you can find ngglegacy. In the view-directory you will find different templates. Just copy the singlepic.php to your theme-folder and put it into a subdirectory called nggallery. Now you can edit this template to your liking and tweak it with css when you think it’s necessary.
Then goto Gallery settings and choose the appropriate template there.

Also look at the other templates for hints.

Good luck!

Thanks a lot for the suggestion. I will try the solution, even with my limited knowledge of PHP. (But I learn as I go, even if I havn’t programmed since the good old days of Basic and Pascal… )

This may be a bit much to ask, but if you can provide me with a sample of PHP for the singlepic file that will display the Description field together with the actual picture I would really appreciate it!

@jeroen – Thanks for all of your assistance with this.

@torsteinh – If you are still having issues after everything that @jeroen has suggested, please feel free to submit a Bug Report with your specifics so we can address this further.

You may even consider adding a Feature Request for this option to be added to the SinglePic functionality.
