In process of building a single page theme loaded with jQ.
Haven't found any support on this topic yet, which I thought was interesting, and was wondering what/if developers are running into - so I can be on the look out.

Thanks for any insight, links, or comments.

Doing the same thing wondering if you've had any luck in your search?

I have been reviewing how a few other sites accomplished it.
I am using the jQuery.ScrollTo plugin to get it to move the way I want.

As far as developing in WordPress...
I have my main navigation set to all #anchors through custom menu links, so after that its all css & jQ.

The only thing I am not happy about is having everything set up in one page in the back-end. Not so great for users. I'm just a novice with PHP there's probably a way to call additional pages into one page - but probably messy, so I'll just deal.

Yeah, I'm a bit put off trying to figure out the back-end stuff, I think I could get all the pages to load up in one but I'm clueless as to how to do the blog/news page.

Did you find any free templates that use one page, thus far can only find premium ones?

With the amount of scrolling involved in a typical blog, I personally would make the blog a separate page.

However you could feed the blog content (or the excerpt) in with RSS and link to each post - having the posts be separate pages.
