Hi Lance,
please pastebin.com the code so we can see it.
Look under PHP in pastebin
Sure, simple enough.
http://codex.wordpress.org/Template_Hierarchy#Category_display
First, you don’t need the blog header if you’re using that code for just a single category.
Make it category-(name).php like category-videos.php or category-49.php
Then just use
get_header()
<run the loop>
get_footer()
and you’re done.
still lost, the catergory is competitions, could you show the complete code I need so I can copy and paste into my site.
thanks for the help
what do you mean by “the category is competitions”?
i still want the posts to look the same as before, but just want the one cat one the page. here is the site http://www.westtexaspitmasters.com
This is the cat(competitions) I want to show on my home page. want to show differnt cats on differnt pages.
sorry for the confussion.
So you would need to create a file called “category-competitions.php” and then put all your code in there (of course this is inside your custom theme folder)
I have the category (competitions) along with others on my wordpress site http://www.westtexaspitmasters.com/wordpress and currently it shows up on my http://www.westtexaspitmasters.com site also.The problem is I just want the competitions cat to show up on my http://www.westtexaspitmasters.com/index.php page, but right now all cat are showing up.
I am not a programmer so php is greek to me.
Probably a better to hire someone if you aren’t sure what you’re doing.
We can certainly help point you in the right direction, here in the forums, but we can’t do it for you.
