I actually see a second difference with video display between the self-hosted and WordPress.com versions of Singl. On the WordPress.com version, the video embed is displayed above the post title, while on self-hosted versions it’s below the title.
I’m going to ask our developers to have a look at this and find out if we can bring the two versions in line when it comes to the embedded video display. I’ll keep you posted here.

This is due to a difference between a plugin we run on WP.com that isn’t currently available to self-hosted users. Eventually we hope for that plugin to be available in Jetpack (jetpack.me) but for now, videos will display below the post title in the self-hosted version of Singl.
I hope this clears things up!
