Simplify Author backend experience

    What plugins is anyone using to simplify the back end experience / remove items for less than technical people. WordPress although full featured might feel complex and I am wanting to setup a system where 50+ users will be able to post, most not terribly computer savvy. Just trying to figure out what solutions there are for creating this type of environment.
