    Hi All,

As soon as I upgraded to version 2.0 of Jetpack, my forum suddenly started appearing twice on the Forum Page. It appears as full page width right at the top and then the normal way just below that.

Are you aware of this at all? Perhaps any assistance as to how I can fix it? Thank you in advance.

Thanks for the link. Could you try to temporarily switch to a different theme like Twenty Eleven, and let me know if the problem remains?

The same doubling happened with my Mingle Forum; when I deleted Jetpack, the problem was resolved.

BTW as well as making the forum appear twice, it disabled the forum posting editor.

Yeah I have also temporarily deactivated Jetpack, but my goal is to find a solution and have both running together. Ill post the solution once i have one.

@KentUser @twizted_sc Could you try to temporarily switch to a different theme? It would be useful to find out if the problem happens with specific plugins, or with some themes only.

    Thank you!

Sorry. Yes I did switch to twenty eleven and the problem persisted.

Same here. Switched theme and no difference.

Could you try to disable the Sharing module, and let me know if that helps?

You can find out how to disable modules here:

That works: reinstalled Jetpack 2.0 and disallowed sharing on any page/post; the forum shows once and works fine.
Well done in identifying problem and fix. Thanks.

Didn't work for me :( I first tried to deactivate the sharing plugin. Then I uninstalled Jetpack and reinstalled it and then deactivated the sharing plugin and still no luck :(

In my case, instead of seeing double, my forum went blank in the content area of the forum page (Simple:Press Forum 4.x.x / WP 3.4.2 / Jetpack 2.0+ / custom theme).

I say 'blank' instead of completely disappeared, because I could still see that the forum styling was being applied to buttons in my sidebar and the forum permalinks were still working (going to an actual topic's permalink, using my browser history, didn't give a 404 error and it still showed the topic title in the browser title).

After turning Jetpack modules off one by one, I found disabling both the 'Sharing' and 'Publicize' modules made everything work normally again for me.

Thanks for the post. I just upgraded to v2.0.2 and then also disabled the Publicize plugin and now mine is working fine again as well.

No problem, that's great to hear.

I'm having the same problem on my new website: PostChaotic.com. I've fixed the problem for now by disabling both "Publicize" and "Sharing" on Jetpack. However, I would really like to be able to use those plugins, so a fix would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Any updates on this? I'm having the same problem, and disabling both "Publicize" and "Sharing" has fixed it for now, but I also want to be able to use those. Thanks!

Could you install this small plugin? It will allow you to use Publicize and Sharing without breaking your forums:

I tried the plugin fix for this and received this memory error as soon as I tried to load my Simple Press forums:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 32 bytes) in /home/xxxxxx/public_html/wp-includes/wp-db.php on line 1545

Without the Disable Jetpack Open Graph tags plugin, the forum page opens without error.

Is this something I can fix on my end?

Edited to add: Never mind, I've increased memory allocation for WP and now this works fine. Adding this note in case someone else is as stupid as I am. :)

Really pleased to have found this because it was driving me and the members of my cycling club mad. I've turned off pulicise and sharing but would like to bring that functionality back. Therefore, I was keen to install the plug-in from Jeremy but I'm not sure where I should load those files on the server. Please can you provide some guidance.

    Thanks in advance

@dfawatts unzip the file and put the jp-disable-og folder (containing the plugin php file) into your wp-content "plugins" folder. Then visit your admin panel to activate the plugin.

FWIW, I've gone for bbPress in the end. A bit clunky but less hassle.

Excellent thanks cullaloe, that's worked a treat. Now if only I could get a really easy way for all my forum members to upload an avatar without needting to go through the hassle of gravatar and wordpress.

Found that SEO by Yoast was also causing the problem. I blew away my whole site and started adding back plugins one by one. So simplepress seems to have an issue with both Jetpack and WordPress SEO by Yoast
