I use Simplehost as my site host and I cannot see my site at all for the past few hours. I am extremely frustrated. When I click on the URL, this message from WP comes up:
Error establishing a database connection
This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can't contact the database server at localhost.
* Are you sure you have the correct username and password?
* Are you sure that you have typed the correct hostname?
* Are you sure that the database server is running?
Is anybody else with SimpleHost (http://simplehost.com) having this problem? I haven't changed one thing in my WP. HELP!

Don't panic. It is probably a temporary server issue at your host. Did you try to contact them?
All the things you could check yourself are provided in that error message; if you're sure you have the right username and password then ask your host whether the mysql server is down.
It sounds like your database (SQL Server) might be down - which is a host problem.

Thanks for your help---it must be the host. I am pretty frustrated--it's been down at least 6 hours now.
I've been using them almost a year. They have this problem going on sometime 3-5 times a month. I called them I write them. They have problem with sql server. Good thing they reply real quick, unless its not weekend. Otherwise, it's making me crazy. They have this unlimited space deal. I really need that. May be I can try to transfer my databases to more reliable hosting. Is somebody know any good reliable hosting .

I would not normally go for any provider with unlimited space deal :)

I have been using WestHost from 2000. They are hosting Taragana.Com and my Simple Thoughts Blog & Free eye care book. Never had problems. Their support is very prompt and capable. The VPS (Virtual Private Server) is actually the deal clincher for me.
