    I am using this theme

Here is my site i am building:-
    http://www.graceleepromotions.com/timeoutgelato/

I need to remove the big box on the left hand side of the slider area that says read more (it is covering most of the picture in the slider)

Anyone know how to do this?

You probably don't need an answer, but if so here's how.

In the .css, you will find the images slider-banner.png. If you change the image name, you will render the image useless and it will disappear. Also, below there, you can adjust the font spacing, etc for the text that was laid over the box, or remove it all together.

Instead, I pulled down the box, and made it semi-transparent in my editing soft and then pushed it back up. Now the large featured images can be seen through the box. If this doesn't help you, maybe someone else has same question.
