Calculated Fields Form
[resolved] Simple adding fields equation produces incorrect results (4 posts)

    Hello,

i have total field in the form here ,

it just adds calculated fields above it "fieldname1+fieldname2+..." .

The problem is that if a number greater that 454 is inserted into the "Gross tonnage" field, the sum of the calculations in the "Total" becomes incorrect and weird. Adding together numbers as big as several thousands returns a total of two digit value. All calculated fields use prec function, but the result is the same if prec is removed.

The funny thing is that all other fields with much more complex calculations always return correct values.

Looking forward to any ideas on this weird behaviour.

    Thanks

Didn't get an answer from you so i just made a giant formula in the total field, that includes the formulas form all the other calculated fields and it works ok.

    Hi,

I'm sorry, I couldn't read your entry previously; but I saw you've solved the issue by yourself, congratulations. And one more time, my apologize by delay.

I have the same issue. I have a Total calculated field that has other calculated fields in its formula. I have all the calculated fields prec function to one decimal. The Total calculation isn't correct based on the other calculated fields. It appears there is a rounding issue with the calculated fields.

    Can you help?
