Signup plugin?

My client has a website where he has a page in which he has several free download links. (up to 50MB each) He wants users to first register by filling in several fields and capture the data – BEFORE allowing access to download the files. When the same user returns he can download more files without having to register again. Is there a plugin that can do this?
