Signed up two accounts here today, oen for a friend but for some reason, both times, I could not get in when putting either login details in.
reply : This username does not exist. Register it?
I requested a new password and it sent one ! I then tried to login with that and it refused with the same reason. I think I then used the top right logins again instead of the left side and it logged in on his account.
Thought better let you know :)
Were these forum accounts? Or wordpress.com accounts?

And where did you try to login that you saw a top LEFT login box?
Cause that only exists on WP.com

hi ipstenu
After trying to login and failing, the login page also appears on the left in the table under the header.

As I say above, I think after trying the new password, I moved to the top right login and it then let me in.
Thanks for the reply :)
Ahh, okay, that's not a TOP left (top left would be where it says 'FORUMS' in big letters, you see). You just mean the generic login page. Right.
I would suggest cleaning out your cookies and cache, if it happens again.
