Our website has been up and running for 2 weeks. All of a sudden our sidebars have disappeared. When I go into the section where the sidebars can be edited they are all blank. Any clue what happened? Any idea if they are recoverable or do I have to redo all the side bars?
Have you tried:
- deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
- switching to the Twenty Ten theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.
- resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

Well, I did try the options you provided. It doesn't seem to fix the error. I appreciate the suggestions though. As I look at my sidebars I realize I cannot add custom information anymore. My twitter info & blog stuff still appears.
Try re-uploading a fresh copy of your theme.

If I try re-uploading a fresh copy will it mess up anything on my website? I haven't been using word press long so I'm nervous to mess up the site anymore than it already is!
It shouldn't do - although any customisations you made to the theme will be lost.
