• Hello there. I have a new blog at http://www.pinchbottom.org. I am using the Mental Disorder theme, and I just installed Sidebar Widgets. It seems to be working OK, except that the stuff in the sidebar is too wide and the posts don’t start appearing until after the sidebar items. Any help in fixing this would be very much appreciated. I’m relatively new to CSS, so the simpler the explanation the better for me it will be. Many many thanks,

    Slappy P

I see no error in your CSS, but your title seeds RSS. IT IS BIG ERROR!

Hi there! Thank you for looking at my site. I had reverted to my theme’s original sidebar.php file (turning off Sidebar Widgets) to temporarily make the site look OK again, but since you’re willing to take a look I’ve now gone back to the Sidebar Widgets sidebar.php file. Now you should be able to see the problem I’m having.

As for the title seeding RSS, I must confess that I’m not sure exactly what that means, or how to turn it off. If you could explain to me what the problem is and how I should correct it, I would be happy to do so.

Thanks very much for any advice.

slappypinchbott; this is actually a common issue as many sites that use themes where the float is not handled properly do in fact break. If you take a VIEW Source of your site with and without widgets you can usually find the offending code and make provision for it in the CSS.

However, this is not always the case. I dont know the theme you have as I’ve never looked at it but many of the sites I’ve fixed I usually did so by placing either a clearfix in the CSS or simply removed and redid the columns my way.

I hope that helps a bit.
