• I’m working on a website that has a simple two column layout. The left column is basically the sidebar, and when a browser window is not in full screen, the sidebar overlaps the main content.

    Check out a screenshot: http://imgur.com/M4gNdj2

I’ve been trying to go through using Firebug to change some settings, but I’ve had no luck.

Any advice on making the sidebar stay on the left and the main content body stay to the right of the sidebar?

Oh, I forgot to link the site: http://vantageatl.com/

What browser are you using? When I resize my Chrome browser window your site is fine.

You need to turn off Compatibility Mode in Internet Explorer. Compatibility Mode should only be used for web sites that were designed for older versions of Internet Explorer, web sites that don’t display properly in newer versions of IE. Compatibility Mode should not be turned on by default because it can screw up the appearance of modern web sites.
