Sidebar not showing correctly on blog page (4 posts)

    Hello All,

I have set up a WordPress site with static home and other static pages. It is a Twenty Ten child theme where I have made some minor alterations to the style.css.

After adding sidebar widgets I notice that the sidebar displays properly on all pages except for the Blog page where it displays the sidebar info in the page area at the end of the page... pls see the link to the website below

P.S. I am using the Dynamic Widget plugin but this issue was there before I installed this tool.

I am not sure how or why this is happening and wonder if anyone has any ideas to help me out!

    Cheers

    at least one cause is post 'Sarah Gillespie, a quartet gig 28th April at Jagz' which has several unclosed divs;

edit that post, in the html mode of the editor, and carefully match all opening/closing html tags in the content, especially divs.
as far as i could see, there are four (4) excess <div> very close to the beginning of the content.

(in single post view, that particular post has the sidebar also at the bottom)

this might be the only post with that problem - but you can check each individual post by clicking on the post title on the front page - if the sidebar is ok in the single posts, then the post is probably ok)

Many thanks for the reply and suggestion - I corrected the html and it worked!

I wonder if this is a known 'issue' at WordPress.org?...

I am loving WP as it enables me to create and edit pages/posts etc without getting involved too much in the html or css code.
I have used the html view on a page if, for instance, I want to change the colour of the font for a few words - however I have noticed that if you chop and change things in Visual mode e.g. add, delete and re-add an image, cut and paste to move paragraphs, it does seem to leave a legacy of code snippets such as the <div>

Once again, thanks for bailing me out here!

the editor does have its limitations.

there is an option to tick under:
'settings' 'writing' 'formatting' '[]WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically'

which you could try to use; this will only get applied when you write new posts.
