Sidebar never changes

    I’m very new to wordpress so please be kind. I have been adding things to my sidebar with other wordpress blogs and I have had some success through trial and error.

    Recently I started a blog with this theme.

    http://themes.wordpress.net/columns/2-columns/1513/signs-10/

    But when I make changes to the sidebar.php file it has no effect. Even when I delete the contents of the file it still looks the same.

    What am I missing with this theme and what file do I need to modify to make changes to the left side??
