Sidebar disappears when image widget is applied.

    Greetings,

    First I would like to say hello.

    This is my first posting on the forum and just starting to learn my way around.

    I recently installed a WordPress blog in Scott Allan Wallick’s veryplaintxt format.

    I attempted to add a simple single graphic ( photo of myself actually ) at the top of the sidebar.

    When i drag the widget over to the side bar and and save changes, the graphic appears on the page but the sidebar has disappeared.

    The graphic/picture also appears with a minus or hyphen “-“
    just slightly above it.

    I have optomized the graphic to under 10kb and have searched the forum and elsewhere for helpful insight but to no avail.

    Any insight will be greatly appreciated.
