I manage the blog at http://blog.opensourceecology.org/

After migrating the database and all site files via rsync to a new server, the panels named "Sidebar" and "Inactive Widgets" from http://<my-site>/wp-admin/widgets.php simply vanished.

I then upgraded from WordPress 3.0.3 to 3.1.4, but the problem persists.

After moving to new server: http://picpaste.com/wp-widgets-after.png

What could have caused this? How can I fix it?

    Thanks!

I inspected the page source and saw that the bottom part is missing. The page ends like this:

    <label for="vf-widget-discussions-widget_cache-trigger-post">Post</label>
    </div><div style="float:left; display:inline; margin:2px 1px 1px 0;" nowrap="nowrap"><input type="checkbox" id="vf-widget-discussions-widget_cache-trigger-tag" name="vf-widget-discussions-widget_cache-trigger[]" value="tag" /><label for="vf-widget-discussions-widget_cache-trigger-tag">Tag</label>
    </div></div></fieldset>

Since 'vf-widget-discussions' is related to the Vanilla Forums plugin (I'm using v. 1.0.5), I disabled it, and indeed the missing panels reappeared (well, empty, but at least they're back).

How can I see the error that causes the page to stop rendering?
