    Hi there,
    I want the sidebar to appear on all the pages of the Twenty Eleven theme. It only appears on the front page.
    Can you help me with how I do that?

    once you got your sidebar setup already,

    1. go the Pages, and create a page. Lets call it "sidebar1"

    2.Appearance>menu> (on the right hand side, click the "+" to add a new menu(call it menu1), then select page "sidebar1", then save the menu

    3.Appearance>widgets>main sidebar> (add the custom menu and click on edit)> on the select menu drop down, select "menu1", and on bottom, side bar, click main sidebar and position 1.

    4. Go back to pages, on all the pages that you want to have sidebar displayed, click on the quick edit, then on template, choose sidebar template.

    5. Refresh your page :)

    One side note, does anyone know how to display sidebar in this manner in 404? (not a difference child template, not comfortable touching codes just yet :( )

    without editing the files, you can use the 'Sidebar Template' that comes with the theme;

    dashboard - pages - edit page - page attributes - template

    if you want a sidebar permanently on all pages, then start with creating a child theme;

    once your child theme is in place, the forum should be able to help you.

    or this plugin might work: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/twenty-eleven-theme-extensions/

    Thanks Eric. I did what you said except for point 3: 'and on bottom, side bar, click main sidebar and position 1."
    on bottom? Where on bottom? There isn't a place to click main sidebar and position 1.
    I notice that I have to add every page I create now to the Menu 1 for it to appear in the sidebar. Is this a correct assumption or have I done something wrong?
