    I know there are alot of posts about this issue but I haven’t touched any code (new to wordpress) I added a post one day and whatever theme I try the sidebar always drops – it’s the same in IE and FF, I tried a super basic theme and the side bar was back to normal – I edited a post and it dropped again *arrrgh*! site: http://www.espanglo.co.uk

    thanks!

  • Edit this post only:
    http://www.espanglo.co.uk/?p=11

    Turn the editor OFF (Users > Your profile > scroll to bottom)

    Then very carefully count how many
    <div>
    are there, and how many
    </div>

    If you want, copy the whole post and paste it at this location: http://pastebin.com

    Then we can check things out for you.

    I think I’ve done what you asked?

    http://pastebin.com/681234

    Thanks for that.
    In Options > Writing, is this box checked?
    WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically

    And can you say whether you wrote the original post with or without the editor on?

    ‘WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically’

    is Unchecked

    And if you mean the first editor you told me to turn off, I’ve never touched it, so always on

    Check that box…..
    Then edit each post on the front page (just put an extra space in. This will make it resave and also put the right tags in place).
    Then we’ll see what happens?

    I added an extra . to each post on the main page and saved, still no different – though out of about four themes one seems to be working alright – at the moment at least!
