Showing Zero Posts in Categories

    I recently switched themes that allow categories in the top but when I notice some were missing I came to find out that they were not showing because it said there were 0 posts in the category, but when I clicked on the number it showed the posts. Is there a way I can troubleshoot to get it to show the correct number of posts that are in the category? Help would be appreciated.

    There is an easy fix for this: create a new post and assign it to all categories that have incorrect counts. When you publish it, it causes WP to re-count each of the categories. You can delete the post immediately.
